Justice Rhodes-Vivour’s Wife, Daughter Kidnapped

The wife and daughter of Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour of the Supreme Court are the latest victims of high profile kidnappings in Nigerian. Mrs Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour and her daughter who is due to wed in about a week were abducted along with their driver on Friday evening at the Lagos-Benin Road.
Recall that Prof. Kamene Okonjo, mother of Finance Minister Okonjo-Iweala, was kidnapped last December in her palace in Ogwashi-Ukwu in Delta State. Recently, the Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Centre in Lagos, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, was also kidnapped and later released. Last week an elder statesman and former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Alhaji Shettima Monguno, after the Jumat service in his residence in Maiduguri, Borno State capital. The above mentioned victims families had to pay a ransom or nothing at all to secure their release. Many others were not so lucky, they paid with their lives.
How do we protect ourselves from kidnappers? What personal security measures can we take?
