What's your excuse for not exercising? Think about it long and hard but I assure you that nothing you come up with will be good enough!
My mum used to say that the body is like a machine, you need to service it every now and again. To exercise your body is to service it. Whether you are trying to loose weight or just keeping fit, exercise ought to be a part of your life.
Exercise controls your weight, combats health conditions and diseases, improves your mood, boosts energy, promotes better sleep and improves your sex life. How many more reasons do you need to get moving?
I met Nanaye CEO Ultimate Fitness Bootcamp Abuja about 2 years ago when i joined the camp. He engages a fun and I dare say intellectual approach to ensure you get and or maintain your dream body.
If you live in Abuja, UFBC has something big on offer tomorrow Saturday 8th June and guess what? It is FREE. Hear from Nanaye after the cut
10 Frequently Asked Questions About The 14km Fitness Walk
Q How Long Is The Walk?
A The Walk is actually about 14km. So why do I promote it as a 10km walk? You ask. Well for 3 reasons:
(1) Because 10 is a cooler number
(2) I told everybody it was only 10km the first time just to get them started. Think about it, 10km is more manageable than 14km. So I lied? Yes I did but it was a Saturday and I’m allowed to lie on Saturdays
(3) I really like the ‘10 Fitness Walk’ Logo and it says ‘10km’on it so it will be unfair to the logo and my logo design guy not to use it. I know, I know . . . I’ll have another one made.
Q How Many Calories Can I Expect To Burn Over This 14km Walk?
A It depends on your weight, the duration of the walk, and your pace (speed). We’ve gotten over 1000 calories on these walks with our campers. The general rule of thumb is 100 calories per mile (1.6km) for a 180-pound (82kg) person and 65 for a 120-pound (73kg) person.
The walk is 14km = 8.75 miles. So if you weigh 82kg or 73kg then you’ll expend about 717.5 calories or 639 calories respectively. Of course, if you are heavier or do a run you’ll burn way more calories.
I can’t believe I just did math up there. Yay!
Alternatively, you can use the table I stole from some website below. Ko, below, koko, below, ko . . . Nanaye Focus!

Q How Long Will It Take To Complete The Walk?
A Anywhere from 90 minutes (if you are super fit and you run all the way) to 3 hours (if it is your first time and you take it easy). I recommend you record how much time it takes you to complete the course. The goal is to do it faster every time you try it, hopefully in 4 weeks.

Q Do I Have To Finish The Walk?
A Nope. We recommend that you do what you can, given your fitness level and time available. If you get really tired and can’t push yourself anymore then just jump in a cab and head on home. Home o, not your favourite ice-cream parlor.
